About the project
Strengthen the comprehensive gynecological health of women in Bolívar State, Venezuela, by adapting specialized consulting rooms at the Rotary Angostura Foundation and providing advanced ultrasound technology, to reduce undetected pathologies and gynecological morbidity in the region.
Objective
Strengthen the comprehensive gynecological health of the female population of Bolívar State by adapting specialized consulting rooms and providing advanced ultrasound technology, in order to reduce the incidence of undetected pathologies and the rates of gynecological morbidity in the region.
Project design
The project is built on a comprehensive strategy that begins with the adaptation of the clinical infrastructure at the Rotary Angostura Foundation, focused on remodeling and air-conditioning the physical spaces to guarantee an optimal environment both for the operation of the equipment and for the comfort of patients.
At the same time, the procurement of the Consona N8 ultrasound systems will be carried out, ensuring their installation and the subsequent technical training of the specialized medical staff in the use of the advanced functions of the diagnostic software.
The operational phase includes a recurring schedule of gynecological consultations and screening days for girls, adolescents and adult women, complemented by a community health education program on prevention and early detection of pathologies.
Finally, the design includes continuous monitoring of morbidity indicators and a financial sustainability plan based on reserve funds for the preventive maintenance of biomedical equipment, ensuring the operational continuity of the service and the long-term impact on the health of women in the Guayana region.
Beneficiaries
With the acquisition of the equipment described in the project, more than 160 girls, adolescents and women per month will benefit.
Sustainability
The sustainability of the project is based on a three-pronged management model that guarantees long-term operational, technical and financial continuity.
Operationally, the project is integrated into the established structure of the Rotary Angostura Foundation, which will manage the consulting rooms through a permanent monitoring committee.
Technically, sustainability is ensured through the continuous training of medical staff and a preventive and corrective maintenance protocol for the ultrasound equipment and air-conditioning systems, guaranteeing a useful life of more than ten years.
Financially, a model of social cost-recovery fees will be established, adjusted to the economic capacity of the community and aimed exclusively at creating a reserve fund for medical supplies, technical services and the replacement of biomedical equipment at the end of its useful life.
Finally, community empowerment will be achieved through health education programs that will turn the beneficiaries into multipliers of preventive information, ensuring steady demand for gynecological services and keeping the project rooted as a vital asset for the health of women in the Guayana region.
